Hi Amanda,
Thanks for writing to the blog for help with your project. Are there any events in your mother or grandmother's life that you wish you knew more about? Are there family photographs that have made you curious to know more about who is in them, where the photo was taken, and when it was taken? Was a story told once that made you wish you knew more about a person or event?
It might be helpful if you pick something that YOU want to know more about or think is important, and we can work from there. A photograph, a story, or an object could be a door into lots of questions that your family could answer.
This project and its exploration of family/community history is not only new to you and your fellow students, but might be new to members of your family/community, too. Sometimes it takes a little bit to focus on the events and people that make up our past.
Feel free to ask any question on the blog and in class. Our next class will be about oral history and questions you can ask. This will likely help you more.
